Overview of the role

The Senior Tax Analyst - Group Tax Operations plays a critical role in ensuring the execution of tax compliance, reporting, and audit readiness activities. Working closely with finance teams, external advisors, and Group Tax, the role is pivotal in maintaining strong tax documentation standards and enhancing operational tax processes. A focus on timely and accurate execution of tax compliance and coordination with Group Tax for alignment with strategic tax objectives is essential. Success in this role involves maintaining accurate reconciliations, supporting audits efficiently, and proactive stakeholder engagement.

What you will do

Tax compliance
  • Prepare CIT/Zakat returns ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update the tax compliance calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Tax accounting & reporting
  • Prepare tax provision schedules and calculate supporting figures.
  • Reconcile tax balances with the general ledger accurately.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparing financial statement tax disclosures.
  • Audit readiness & documentation
  • Maintain an organized repository of tax documentation.
  • Prepare audit-ready files, including computations and supporting schedules.
  • Support responses to internal and external audit queries effectively.
  • Liaison with Group Tax
  • Act as the operational contact between local finance teams and Group Tax.
  • Provide necessary tax schedules and documentation to Group Tax.
  • Ensure alignment with Group Tax policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Support implementation of Group Tax initiatives and governance requirements.
  • Escalate tax risks and significant matters to Group Tax promptly.
  • Data analysis & reconciliation
  • Analyze tax data and reconcile differences between tax reports and financial records.
  • Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support tax-related financial analysis for improved data integrity.
  • Group Tax Operations support
  • Maintain tax trackers, dashboards, and compliance schedules.
  • Support system-based tax processes and workflows.
  • Coordinate with finance and other stakeholders to resolve tax-related issues.
  • Process improvement
  • Identify opportunities to enhance tax operational efficiency.
  • Support automation initiatives and system improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tax processes and reduce manual adjustments.
  • Required skills to be successful

  • Advanced Excel skills for complex data analysis and reporting.
  • ERP/SAP proficiency - MUST.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Tax audit background - MUST.
  • Strong hands-on automation implementations for tax compliance and audit readiness.
  • What qualifies you for the role

  • 5+ years of experience in tax compliance, tax reporting, or Group Tax Operations.
  • Certified in Tax, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal).
  • Solid understanding of tax compliance and accounting principles.
  • ERP/SAP knowledge is mandatory.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and reconciliation capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations and manage tax audits.
  • Hands-on experience with automation implementations for tax compliance and audit readiness.
