JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our client was established in 1994 and has since gained a reputation for being one of the leading metalwork companies in the area, having been involved in many high-profile projects in the UAE. They are now looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join their expanding team.
The Site Engineer is part of the Site Management team and takes some of the responsibility for security, health and safety, and organising/supervising materials and people. The Site Engineer marks out the site, makes sure designs are applied correctly and liaises with main and sub-contractors and the Site Manager. He/she performs a technical, organisational and supervisory role on construction projects and has to execute the job as per the approved drawings, designs and schedule following the approved method statements without compromising the safety and quality with approved materials. Additionally responsible for maintaining good relationships with the client engineers
Job Summary (Major functions of the position):
• Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors.
• Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
• Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials.
• Monitoring and interpreting the design and drawings supplied by the client.
• Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, quantity surveyors and the general workforce on the project.
• Planning the work and efficiently organizing the site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
• Responsible for overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site.
• Preparing reports as required.
• Checking materials and work in progress for compliance with the specified requirements.
• Observance of safety requirements.
• Quality control in accordance with approved method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans, all prepared by the project management team and by subcontractors.
• Providing data in respect of variation orders and site instructions.
• Preparing record drawings, technical reports, site diary.
Requirements:
Education:• Degree in Engineering or similar qualification
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably within steel fabrication
Reporting:
• Directly to the Site Manager and Functionally to the Project Manager
Salary:
AED
4,500 to 6,500
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
