JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Occupational Therapist to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and occupational disorders in children and adults. This role requires a strong commitment to improving patients' quality of life through personalized therapy plans and collaboration with families and healthcare professionals. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' speech, language, and occupational needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each patient's specific goals and needs.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and clinical expertise to deliver effective therapy sessions.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, and educators, to provide holistic patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to families regarding home exercises and strategies to reinforce therapy goals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, therapy sessions, and progress notes.
- Stay current with the latest research and developments in speech and occupational therapy.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development opportunities.
- Advocate for patients' needs and work to promote accessibility to therapy services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.- Valid professional license to practice as a Speech and Occupational Therapist in UAE.
- Proven experience in providing speech and occupational therapy services, preferably in a clinical or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of communication disorders, developmental milestones, and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and progress tracking.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of industry advancements.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic or other languages is a plus.
