General description of role and responsibilities

  • Assist the technical group to review relevant technical submittals, shop drawings, RFI, etc. associated with the structural works.
  • Coordinate with the designers, sub-consultants, and the contractor.
  • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Monitor and control construction activities and report progress on site.
  • Follow up on technical issues required for work relating to the assigned work area.
  • Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • When requested, review general contractors' method statements and construction procedures, and provide comments and/or recommendations.
  • Attend technical meetings with other members of the team including the design architect.
  • When assigned, chair progress and coordination meetings between structure, civil, MEP, and finishes activity.
  • Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interface with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
  • Review the general contractors' applications for payment.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as assigned.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers working on the same project.
  • Provide information in a timely manner required to meet the project KPIs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
  • Inform themselves of the relevant quality, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies, manuals, and procedures in place within Hill International, and ensure continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
  • Qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a construction/supervision role.
  • Experience in large scale international projects.
  • Experience in MBS and STAAD software.
  • Must have work experience in steel structural.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
