JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of the category and sourcing strategies required to fulfill day to day procurement activities for customers and programs.

Procurement:
- Oversee the liaison and coordination between the team and their internal customers. Take steps to ensure excellent and proactive relationships are maintained.
- Provide regular performance, risk, issue and project reporting and updates to the Senior Procurement Manager. Initiate and monitor improvement activities within the team.
- Provide guidance and input as required to the team in preventing and resolving issues and problems in day to day business.

Suppliers Management:
- Support the team in developing and maintaining supplier relations and managing supplier performance in line with sourcing and category strategies, customer and program requirements. Provide input into critical supplier performance issues.
- Direct the team’s continuous review of supplier portfolios in order to proactively build local market supply capabilities, in order to mitigate risks, reduce costs, and support the development of the UAE composite manufacturing industry.

Contracts Management:
- Provide input as necessary into negotiation and contracting strategies for high value / complex contracts and dispute management.

REQUIREMENTS

- MCIPS or equivalent university degree in Procurement/Supply Chain or Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.
- At least 10 years in procurement and supply chain management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:
- Knowledge on modern procurement and planning techniques.
- Strong analytical skills. Commercial and financial acumen.
- Skilled IT user (MS Office, MS Project, SAP).
- Understanding of aerospace procurement environment.
- Good negotiating skills and ability to influence others to reach agreement.
- Able to plan, coordinate and monitor work plans.
- Ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports and other documentation.
