JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Inspector - Street Light to join our award-winning team in Al Ain, UAE. The Street Light Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and functionality of street lighting systems. This role involves working closely with the engineering team, contractors, and local authorities to ensure that the street lighting systems meet quality standards, safety regulations, and design specifications.
We envisage success in this role to include;
- Perform site inspections of street lighting systems during and after installation.
- Verify that street light poles, fixtures, wiring, and other components comply with project specifications, local standards, and safety regulations.
- Inspect and document the quality and condition of the installed lighting equipment.
- Ensure proper alignment, positioning, and secure installation of light poles and fixtures.
- Monitor compliance with design plans, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Ensure that installation and maintenance activities meet required quality and safety standards.
- Conduct checks on lighting levels and functionality to verify performance requirements.
- Report discrepancies or defects to the engineering team for corrective action.
- Collaborate with the project manager, site engineers, and contractors to coordinate the installation and maintenance of street lighting systems.
- Communicate effectively with local authorities to ensure compliance with municipal regulations and safety codes.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve issues related to equipment or materials used for street lighting.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and any issues encountered during installation or maintenance.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly inspection reports outlining findings, issues, and actions taken.
- Record and track maintenance schedules, service requests, and completed inspections.
- Identify and report any malfunctions or faults in the street lighting system.
- Work with the engineering team to provide troubleshooting recommendations or solutions.
- Inspect and recommend repairs or replacements of defective lighting equipment.
- Ensure all street lighting installations comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Perform safety audits and assess risks associated with street lighting installations.
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Conduct tests on newly installed street lights, ensuring proper functionality.
- Verify the electrical connections and ensure they meet operational requirements before the final handover.
- Provide technical support during construction phases, ensuring that the street lighting system integrates seamlessly into the overall project.
- Assist with any modifications or adjustments needed to meet project specifications and timelines.
Requirements:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 7 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.The candidate must possess at least 7 years of experience in street lighting installation, inspection, or maintenance, ideally in large-scale civil infrastructure projects. A strong background in telecom networks, duct crossings, and related areas is also required.
- The candidate should have a thorough understanding of street lighting systems, electrical wiring, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with local and international codes and standards for street lighting is essential.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications is a must.
- The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, with a methodical approach to inspections.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with team members, contractors, and local authorities.
- The ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues swiftly is crucial.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and safety equipment is required.
- The candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

AED
9,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
