JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
To provide Structural design, coordination & shop drawings expertise to various projects ensuring technical excellence and coordination of relevant project activities.
Typical duties will include but not limited to the following:
- Review of projects Structural design drawings and specifications against standards, codes and authorities regulations.
- Prepare and review Structural shop drawings of main contractor, coordination and preparation of contractors’ drawings and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate and manage structural subcontractor and specialist shop drawings for correction and approval
- Coordinate and study structural drawings against relevant activities and raise technical requests for information to clarify and solve the discrepancies.
- Propose alternative structural solutions to overcome obstacles of execution
- Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Review supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
- Prepare and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Correspond day to day with design team / attend team meetings/ attend meetings on site to take care of the structural aspects of the project’s work.
- Supervise and co-ordinate draughtsman
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications Education:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
Work Experience:
- 5-8 years’ experience in structural engineering Knowledge
- Microsoft Office mandatory
- Strong Problems solving capabilities
- Proficient in writing and checking of design reports and calculation sheets Skills
- Excellent English language skills, AutoCAD, SAP 2000, ETAB2000, safe Programme.
- Design using (Bs), (ACL) and DPC 97, Project Management training
- Attention to detail, Integrity, Ability to recognize confidential and sensitive information
