Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced site structural superintendent as part of our engineering team within our oil, gas & new energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at Habshan Site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The role
The structural superintendent is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all structural construction activities at site to ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with ADNOC, project specifications, and international standards.

Responsibilities
Construction & supervision
Supervise and coordinate structural works including foundations, concrete, steel structures, pipe racks, buildings, and equipment supports.
Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, and EPCM procedures.
Monitor daily site progress and productivity of subcontractors and direct-hire workforce.
Resolve site construction issues, clashes, and constructability problems in coordination with engineering and QA/QC teams.
HSE & ADNOC compliance
Enforce ADNOC HSE standards, project HSE plan, and safe work practices at all times.
Conduct toolbox talks, job safety analysis (JSA), and risk assessments.
Ensure zero tolerance for unsafe acts and conditions.
Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
Quality assurance
Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors to ensure compliance with ITPs, inspection hold points, and material approvals.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented for NCRs related to structural works.
Verify completion of punch items and support mechanical completion activities.
Planning & coordination
Interface with civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure proper sequencing of works.
Support construction planning and look-ahead schedules.
Coordinate with engineering for RFIs, design clarifications, and site queries.
Assist in reviewing and approving subcontractor construction methodologies.
Reporting
Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
Provide input to construction status meetings.
Track manpower, equipment, and material utilization.
Qualifications

Expected:
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering (mandatory).
Minimum 15+ years of experience in onshore oil & gas construction projects.
Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
Proven experience on ADNOC or ADNOC group projects is highly preferred.
EPCM project experience is mandatory.
Technical skills
Strong knowledge of structural steel erection, reinforced concrete works, foundations, and pipe racks.
Familiar with ADNOC specifications, international codes (ACI, AISC, BS, ASTM).
Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings and construction documents.
Soft skills
Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
Excellent communication with multicultural workforce.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability under site conditions.
