JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
POSITION SUMMARY
Amentum, a large government contract company, is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for existing and new potential programs support to Amentum's customer Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct compliant sourcing and procurement utilizing the list of approved manufacturers in US and globally for specific product category.
- Conduct accurate specification comparisons and identify opportunities for improvements in the supply chain in terms of product specifications, packaging, to drive bottom line improvements.
- Manage the vetting and due diligence process to pre-qualify additional suppliers to become approved sources.
- Bi-Weekly management of demand planning, forecasting and order replenishment activities, utilizing program specific replenishment module based on historical and forecasted customer demand.
- Perform accurate analytics and cost comparisons and identify opportunities for catalogue management improvements to drive cost efficiencies and optimized supply chain operations.
- Performance management of contracted suppliers in US and Globally.
- Manage transactional data in Amentum system of records including workflow management in WMS system.
- Provide supply chain support to programs in support to customer locations in Middle East, Africa, and Eastern hemisphere.
- Manage supply chain activities IAW international, US, DLA, PWS and Amentum criteria to ensure regulations and compliance are followed in a timely and professional manner.
Under general direction, this role will provide Supply Chain support of a high volume and variety of life support supplies and services. This role will ensure suppliers are vetted and pre-qualified and part of the customer ordering catalogue. The Supply Chain role will be a pivotal position to ensure high customer satisfaction.
The Supply Chain Specialist will be based in Dubai, UAE, and will need to be available for travel to sites as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have three (5) years of previous experience in logistics for a US government contract.
- Experience on a life support type contracts and management of product categories that require cold chain.
- Previous work experience on DLA distribution type contracts.
- Experience with management of product categories across all stages of supply chain including management of product shelf life.
- Demand Planning, forecasting and order replenishment skills, utilizing program specific replenishment module based on historical and forecasted customer demand.
- Manage internal and external reporting including supply chain analytics as contractually required by customers and for internal management review.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to analyze large row data sets.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience providing excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards.
EDUCATION
- Associates degree in business or related field of study or previous equivalent years of experience.
