We are seeking an experienced Systems Specialist - DC Microgrid Engineer to join our Engineering team.
What you’ll do:
As a Systems Specialist - DC Microgrid Engineer, you will be expected to have a strong understanding of microgrid architecture, be able to design and integrate DC microgrid systems, including selection of appropriate (EATON) power components and ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure. This role will also ensure the microgrid complies with relevant safety standards and regulations to protect both the system installation and personnel.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develops comprehensive designs and architectures for DC microgrid systems, ensuring they meet technical and operational requirements.
- Oversees the integration of various system components – Hardware & software of power sources, storage systems and control systems.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure seamless operation and compliance with relevant industry specific safety standards and regulations.
- Analyses system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Implements cybersecurity measures to protect the microgrid from potential threats and conducting threat modeling.
- Works closely with other engineers, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful project execution and system integration.
- Prepares detailed technical documentation and reports for stakeholders, outlining system designs, performance metrics, and improvement plans.
Requirements:
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electromechanical engineering or equivalent (e.g., physics or mechatronics)
- 10+ years of experience in electrical grid design with knowledge in DC microgrid system architecture and relevant standards
Skills:
- Strong technical thinking, analytical and core competency on electrical grid design
- Knowledge in grid topologies and interconnection to AC infrastructure required
- Results driven and ability to work within an international, culturally diverse and matrix based organization.
- Strong motivation to work with different expert teams and across regions
- Strong organizational, presentation, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a project team with internal and external experts
