JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
A leading architectural firm is looking to hire a Technical Design Manager with the below responsibilities:
• Demonstrate a high level of creativity in designing
• Consults with customer to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, and equipment
• Review design proposal criteria and facilitate preparation of proposal documents for use by construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Provide research regarding the project design, along with applicable code and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares the layout of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for customer review and approval.
• Responsible for quality assurance and quality control of design documents for all design disciplines including but not limited to review of documents prepared by Architectural Technicians, sub-consultants and design-build subcontractors.
• Prepare and administer design contracts with the customer and/or sub-consultants.
• Facilitate design reviews and presentation of current design documents for customer review and approval.
• Facilitate the preparation of schematic, design development, and construction documents and manages construction administration activities for the project.
• Develop a design schedule and estimate the costs for projects.
• Develop a Strategic Sales Plan to build market share focusing on key commercial Architecture & Design firms.
• Develop relationships with Architects and Designers to keep informed about their projects and to create tile and stone specifications.
• Manage assigned budgets to approved guidelines to maintain existing business and increase sales.
• Provide design direction by actively working with team members and partners on matters related to product design, including form, function, ergonomics, materials and finish
• Listen and communicate clearly with clients and team members
• Ensure architects are keeping to their work flow.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)
• Accredited degree in the field of Architecture
• 20+ years’ experience in design, planning and development
• Great time management skills to keep projects on time
• Solid analytical skills in identifying the client needs and aligning them to product offerings;
• Strong presentation skills to large audiences
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential
• Ability to analyze market conditions and competition and develop strategic responses to opportunities
• Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Listening skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm and endurance
• Must be flexible to maximize business opportunities as they arise.
