JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - ONSHORE STRUCTURAL

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review ITB (Invitation to Bid) documents and provide technical support to proposal engineering team for structural analysis and estimations including those for tall multi-storeyed structures (steel, concrete and hybrid) supporting equipment as commonly encountered in refinery units as PDH, CDU, CCR to name a few, and downstream petrochemical plants.

- Review and validate FEED specifications, design basis, geotechnical information, and drawings to ensure optimum design solutions have been followed as part of FEED verification.

- Review Contract (ITT/FEED) specifications and drawings to identify conflicts or insufficient data and raise Technical Queries as required.

- Determine the proposal & execution stage Manhour requirement, and develop manpower charts and schedules. Identify the software requirements for design/drafting/modelling for the project.

- Supervise and Lead a team of engineers and designers in carrying out detailed engineering work for large and complex structures (steel, concrete and hybrid) including connection design, and ductile detailing as and when required assuming overall responsibility for conceptual and detailed design, providing Procurement, Subcontracts and Construction supports in compliance with tender specifications, within budgeted man-hour and schedules.

- Ensure structural foundation, scope is well understood and captured for cost and schedule purposes.

- Identify specialized studies / subcontract packages requirements and prepare scope of work.

- Supervise and provide guidance in the development of deliverables and technical documents integrating Contract (ITT/FEED) requirements, applicable codes/specifications and other engineering discipline data inputs including constructability aspects for large and complex structures .

- Review contract requirements for project execution, organise the preparation of Technical Document Register.

- Review and ensure Project Civil & structural design basis, specifications and calculation methods are aligned with Client's/Contractual requirements.

- Ensure Integrity of structural analysis and design is maintained in the project act as a technical auditor or subject matter specialist available in the group.

- Checking of structural deliverables produced by Engineering Team. Ensure the prepared design complies with all applicable Codes, Standards and Specifications and that all constructability aspects are covered.

- Supervise and guide development of structural drawings and technical documents with due consideration of engineering inputs received from other disciplines. Supervise and approve the design calculations for the same.

- Direct the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).

- Administer the preparation of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of Structural items.

- Direct and monitor Material Take off (MTO) activities.

- Interact with various disciplines for finalizing the requirement, scope and sizes of plant buildings.

- Determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems in tandem with the technical specialist and select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.

- Prepare analysis and design methods in line with COMPANY specification for Adequacy checks of existing Buildings and Structures. Supervise a team of engineers and designers to prepare construction drawings covering such modification works.

- Actively participate in Model reviews with COMPANY, coordinate effectively with other disciplines to close the comments and ensure proper incorporation in design drawings and Model.

- Participate in various Interdisciplinary reviews viz. plot plan, constructability, building layout, PFP, HAZID, Risk and provide technical solution to the team.

- Review and support Fabrication and Construction/Installation teams as required.

- Coordinate with projects/planning on project time schedules.

- Participate in employee performance evaluations, establish performance criteria, identify employee strengths and weaknesses, and recommend training and development requirements.

- Ensure strict compliance with Company's ISO Quality procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 15 years of experience in the onshore Oil & Gas industry with reputed Engineering organisations or Consultants. A Master's Degree is preferred.

- Significant experience in the analysis and design of concrete, steel and hybrid structures as commonly encountered in refinery units such as PDH, CCR, CDU, petro-chemical plants is mandatory.

- Significant experience in tall structures supporting equipment, vibration analysis, seismic detailing and ductile design. - Mandatory

- Expertise in software like ANSYS or ABAQUS or GTStrudl will be preferred.

- Exposure to preparation of bids for large EPC projects.

- Overall knowledge and exposure Structural engineering in the field of both steel & concrete, Shallow & deep foundations and water retaining structures.

- Building engineering with basic concept on Blast Resistant design and impact.

- Knowledge on Open frame (Piperack, Technological structures) structural analysis and design with Blast Loads. - Mandatory

- K nowledge on Modular concept & design.

- Exposure on various type of Equipment/Package foundations , Pipe racks and Technological structures - Mandatory .

- Exposure in various C ompany's specification - DEP, ADNOC DGS, AGES, A RAMCO, etc. Exposure to ADNOC's AGES will be added advantage.

- Experience in STAAD Connect - Mandatory.

- Knowledge on Seismic & Wind calculation - Mandatory.

- Knowledge in International codes viz. ASCE /AISC/ACI/IBC/EN/GOST - Mandatory.

- Knowledge in latest and earlier versions of ASCE /AISC/ACI/IBC/ ADIBC /EN/DNV/ISO Codes - Mandatory.

E xposure on Brownfield modification works of structures (steel, concrete and hybrid) will be an added advantage.
