JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Charterhouse is working with an international downhole drilling tools business, which specialises in the supply of specialist drilling equipment for the oil & gas sector. Headquartered in the US, our client is actively seeking a Technical Support Engineer to hire into its Dubai office. This newly created role will report directly to the US HQ office, offering technical and engineering support to their customers across the GCC.
The Technical Support Engineer, will provide complete technical support for its product line, to its customers and work closely with the Business Development Managers, quality and services teams to enhance their knowledge and awareness of any new product lines.
This senior technical role will require the incumbent to conduct technical presentations to its clients at the request of the Business Development Management team and develop standards and procedures related to the products.
The role will require you to complete hydraulic calculations to determine if the results are realistic for the drilling systems and project parameters. In addition, you will evaluate all tools and their components, establishing testing criteria and procedure reviews.
This technical role will prepare design drawings within specific design software and relevant engineering packages – Standard modelling, drawing, simulation and rendering.
REQUIREMENTS
The client will look to recruit a senior candidate who has strong knowledge of downhole drilling products (on-shore), specific to the oil and gas sector in the GCC. The incumbent will have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience for a similar services/tools company and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering field.
The incumbent will have the competency to prepare material to conduct technical seminars and presentations of the company’s product line to clients and internal support staff, whilst having experience in designing tools and components – hydraulic, downhole drilling.
