UAE National - Artificial Intelligence VP

Job Purpose

The role of Vice President of AI will help lead the bank’s AI initiatives, driving innovation, enhancing customer experiences, and optimizing operations. This role involves identifying AI opportunities, developing solutions, and ensuring ethical AI use, requiring a blend of technical expertise and business acumen. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the development and fine-tuning of advanced AI models including looking at all four layers of the generative AI technology stack — infrastructure, models, AI engineering tools and applications. Working closely with cross-functional teams to architect and prototype systems, and implementing robust evaluation and monitoring frameworks

Key Result Areas

• Lead the practical application and integration of AI technologies, focusing on model fine-tuning techniques. And architect and prototype systems to enhance operational workflows and improve customer experiences and create and curate datasets for fine-tuning, evaluation, and monitoring of AI models.
• Act as a key member of the governance committee, overseeing policy development, vendor selection, use case evaluation, and project approvals.
• Manage cross-functional relationships to foster a culture of innovation and ensure the successful adoption of AI technologies and establish a robust, scalable, and secure technological and digital infrastructure for AI adoption.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in AI and Machine Learning, applying this knowledge to improve internal processes and customer services and monitor external trends and competitive positioning.
• Design and recommend AI metrics to establish and track progress in development, testing, and production and establish measured KPIs, and reporting to monitor goal attainment and adherence to standards.
• Lead workshops and training sessions to educate team members and stakeholders on AI, model evaluation, and benchmarking and establish effective change management and communications. While cultivating an organizational culture that embraces learning, innovation, and AI integration and partner with leaders across the organization to drive education and adoption of AI tools.
• Offer expertise and guidance to departments on AI initiatives, aiding in project proposals and implementation strategies and oversee the development and deployment of AI models and algorithms, monitoring and evaluating performance.
• Supervise AI program management, ensuring strategic alignment and efficient execution of AI projects and Develop, articulate, and execute an AI strategy focused on growth while managing risk.
• Implement changes to processes/workflows, introducing new tools for efficiency and productivity gains and collaborate with IT, operations, and data analytics teams on AI tools and capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, establishing a responsible AI framework and governance structure.
