Contracts Engineer/Specialist - Africa
A reputable engineering firm has an urgent requirement to recruit Contracts Engineer/Specialist. This role involves working on large scale infrastructure and Civil Engineering projects, managing claims and contracts matters. For this role FIDIC Red Book expertise is essential.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage contract administration functions including contract preparation, post-award implementation of construction contracts, claims management extension of time and variation settlement including closing out of contracts
- Develop the bidders' list of qualified contractors in coordination with the PM and construction manager
- Manage the supervision of the contractors
- Manage the claim preparation process
- Negotiate any claims when necessary
- Ensure the compliance with the construction and other related contracts of the project
- Prepares all contractual correspondence and other legal documents
- Review proposals from subcontractors and prepare routine responses
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering is essential
- Minimum 20 years’ post graduate construction experience of large Civil Engineering projects in Europe or GCC region from consultancy background
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC Red Book 1999 is essential
- Chartered or Professional Engineer such as MRICS or similar is preferred
- Must be FIDIC Contract specialist
