Environmental Engineer - Construction/Marine - Arabic Speaker

Required by an international contractor to work on the construction of a port in Morocco. The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for all the environmental and social aspects of the project works. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of environmental related project plans and documents, risk assessments, incident reports, client and internal monthly reports etc.
• Coordination with third party consultants for implementing the environmental monitoring of the project as well as conducting environmental monitoring that can be done in house.
• Engage with local authorities and local communities for the social aspects of the project.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Fluent English is a must, while French is preferred
• Bachelor or Masters in Environmental Engineering
• Familiar with using environmental monitoring equipment’s such as a noise meter, dust meter, TSS meter etc.
• Familiar with specialised environmental monitoring programs (e.g. monitoring for ambient air, noise, turbidity, sea water, sediment, corals, plankton, vegetation, avian fauna, benthic fauna etc.)
• Experience with World Bank and Social requirements in previous projects is highly preferred.
• Experience of at least 5 years as an Environmental Engineer in construction projects is a must.
• Experience with similar projects (dredging/marine) is preferable.
• ISO 14001:2015 certification is a must
• Good communication and computer skills
