Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Reporting to the Project Director this role also has a dotted-line reporting relationship with the VP – Finance at Head Office.

Working for a major International Construction company in Morocco on a long term project you will be responsible for leading a team of 2 Finance Managers in the Casablanca Branch Office as well as leading 4-5 finance and accounting staff in the project location.

Other responsibilities as below:
• To manage the financial and commercial affairs of the project.
• Advise on all financial matters and assist in the formulation of JV policy.
• Interface regularly with Project Director and project delivery teams in the JV.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are conducted with the legal and contractual framework.
• Ensure integrity of cash, receivables and payable management.
• To set-up bank facilities and maintain continuous relationship with local banks.
• Co-ordinate with Head Office on country bank facilities.
• Oversee the payroll preparation
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Preparation of accounts in IFRS.
• Enforce financial discipline/guidelines and controls within the organization.
• Monitor the performance of the project against the budget.
• Design and implement processes to give business managers the necessary financial data to make decisions and monitor performance
• To analyze and monitor monthly overheads
• Participate in preparation/presentation of project budgets/projections.
• Ensure that all financial results, forecasts and budgets produced represents a true and fair view of the financial results of the project.
• Ensure that all overheads are monitored against budgets and variances are corrected and make proposals for improvement.
• Understand and provide alternatives to ensure the JV is structured for success

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of post-graduate experience with all aspects of finance function including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting in a similar capacity in the Engineering, Construction, Energy/Oil and Gas industries.
• Strong communication skills in French (both written and spoken) with previous work in Morocco is very advantageous.
• Very strong accounting skills with a professional designation (CA, CPA)
• Have previously reported to an IFRS regulated company.
• Good experience in team leading required.
• Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
• Strong change agent.
