Job description / Role
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Technical expert in RAN Long Term Planning, Performance and Optimization solutions
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure RAN Design and Master plan is updated, taking into consideration Marketing objectives, Coverage objectives and build challenges are addressed and resolved
- Dimensions the RAN network according to the coverage, capacity and quality requirements for the geographical region assigned
- Plans the Node-Bs in Planning Tools, defining their related parameters: site coordinates, antenna type, antenna height, antenna tilt, antenna azimuth, CPICH power, cable loss, propagation model parameters
- Performs design criteria, system dimensioning, link budget and traffic analysis
- Conducts analysis of network performance reports and traffic patterns to evaluate real time network capacity and propose capacity and coverage enhancements, as and when required
- Participate in cross functional meetings with key stakeholders/MS Team involved in the development and deployment of network services in order to define best solutions for existing, as well as new products and services
Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- University Graduate in Telecommunications Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Radio Planning and Radio Network Optimization Frequency ( frequency retuning/ re-farming ) & Interference
- Knowledge of parameter definitions
- Drive testing/fault diagnosis using Network Optimization tools
- Proficient in the use of basic PC applications such as Microsoft Office, Windows and other related planning tools
- Basic database administration skills
