Key Responsibilities

Job Specification: Agronomist (Vertical Farming Specialist)

1. Indoor Vertical Farm Management (Iceberg Lettuce Focus)
• Production Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of Iceberg lettuce, from seedling to harvest, within the system.
• NFT System Optimization: Monitor and maintain five-tier NFT stands, ensuring uniform nutrient flow and oxygenation.
• Climate & Environment Control: Calibrate and manage HVAC and lighting systems to maintain optimal VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit), temperature, and CO2 levels to prevent tip burn and ensure head density.
• Water Chemistry: Perform daily testing and adjustment of pH, EC (Electrical Conductivity), and water temperature to meet the specific requirements of Iceberg lettuce.

2. Greenhouse Operations
• Variety Management: Oversee the growth of Lollo Green, Oak Red, Basil, and Kale in our greenhouse facilities.
• Climate Adaptation: Implement strategies to mitigate the effects of high ambient temperatures and humidity on sensitive varieties like Lollo Green.

3. Quality Assurance & Reporting
• Daily Logging: Maintain rigorous digital logs of climate data, nutrient adjustments, and growth rates.
• System Maintenance: Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure all pumps, sensors, and cooling units are functioning at peak efficiency.
• Yield Forecasting: Provide weekly reports on crop health and estimated harvest dates to the Sales and Operations teams.

Candidate Requirements
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in Indoor Vertical Farming and Hydroponic NFT systems. Specific experience with head lettuce (Iceberg) is highly preferred.
• Educational Background: Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.
• Operational Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot plant stress or system failures immediately.
• Relocation: Open to candidates from the Philippines or India willing to relocate to Lagos, Nigeria.
• Values: A commitment to "clean growth" practices .
• The "Indoor" Mindset: We are looking for someone comfortable with technology and data sensors, not just "boots in the dirt" traditional farming.
• Must be data-literate and capable of generating weekly technical reports.
• Proactive personality—able to catch a system imbalance before it impacts the crop.

• Leave days : employee is entitled to 21 days a year
• Airline ticket : company will provide 1 ticket per year
• Immigration status : company will ensure legal immigration status and all cost related are paid by the company.

Salary:
USD 1,000 to 1,300 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Additional benefits: USD 200/month allowance (NGN), with on-site accommodation, transport, 21 days leave, annual flight ticket, and full immigration support provided by the company.
