Head of Contracts

Job description / Role

We are currently working with a leading civil engineering and construction company as they are looking for a Head of Corporate Contracts to join the team in Abuja, Nigeria. The successful candidate is responsible for providing expert advisory support across the business portfolio including with corporate legal affairs.

Job responsibilities:

- Oversight and development of group standards and processes within contract management
- Review and provide advise on public and private sector tender documents
- Identify, Provide advisory support to Project Coordinators and Regional Leaderships on contract inception, implementation, and closeout activities, including preparation of contract briefing materials, required approvals, and audit file documentation
- Prepare and defend claims against clients and subcontractor
- Organise and conduct periodic contract performance and administrative compliance reviews with Technical Managers
- Commercial Managers, Project Coordinators and Project Managers

Requirements

Key requirements:

- Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying
- 15+ years experience working with international construction firms on major projects
- Further education in Law or relevant field
- West Africa or international project experience
