Job description / Role
• Study the updates and propose policies and procedures for the development of Air Transport activities and assist in the development and modernization of work system.
• Assist in the processing of applications for various approvals of Civil Aviation and Air Transport in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as advise to organize them.
• Conduct studies and provide opinion on matters relating to commercial aspects between Airlines and their users, recommend them and propose mechanisms for monitoring Airlines.
• Advise and prepare regulations on how to handle complaints from passengers and shippers on Airline.
• To provide opinion on joining an International Organizations in Air Transport, as well as sign and join International treaties in that field.
• Advise and provide opinion on draft bilateral agreements for the implementation of Air Transport services and to propose appropriate action.
• Advise and provide opinion on request of the Aviation companies, the certificates of chartered aircraft and insurance documents; as well as applications for operating through the common codes and symbols for the Aviation companies.
• Provide opinion on restraint of competition and balance between the airlines operating to / from the Sultanate and discuss objections on Air Transport prices and make proposals for conducting detrimental to fair competition.
• Follow up and advise on the decisions of Regional and International Organizations and Associations working in Air Transport, as well as decision on International Trade Organizations and Unions and their impact on the Sultanate.
• Study the Ads and promotions offered by the Airlines in the newspapers and magazines; examining the extent to which they conform to the agreements and regulations in force and propose mechanisms to adjust them.
• Ability to provide training courses for Air Transport services staff practically and scientifically.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or Law or Economics with 12 years experience in Air Transport; or
• Master’s Degree in one of the Aviation or Air Transport Specializations with 9 years experience in Air Transport; or
• Doctorate’s Degree in one of the Aviation or Air Transport Specializations with 6 years experience in Air Transport.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (Reading, Writing, Speaking).
• Preferred candidate who has experience working in Civil Aviation Authorities, Airlines, ICAO or IATA.
