Airport Infrastructure Design Engineer

We are seeking to recruit an Airport Infrastructure Design Engineer for a job vacancy for our client in Oman. The role requires experience of buildings and runways for a full-time permanent position with a European Engineering Construction Consultancy in the Middle East. This role will report to the Director who has over 40 years working on Airport Infrastructure Design projects. So this is a great role for someone to learn from a top professional.

PLEASE READ REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING. We are looking for ALL of the following, NOT JUST ONE
• A Designer – Someone with Airport Runway Design experience specifically for Runway, Taxiway, Apron Planning. We cannot consider candidates who have project or site management experience, this is a vacancy for a Design professional.
• Highly skilled in Airport Design with particular experience of Runways Taxiways and Apron Planning and Design. Some experience of Airport buildings is also desirable.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience of the Design of Runways/ Taxiways.
• In particular we are seeking candidates with experience and knowledge of Annex 14 standards
• In addition, A BSc degree in a Construction related subject relevant to the position
• An MSc is also highly desirable
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of Airport Design of Runways / Taxiways and all related design for Airport Apron and Runways, such as lighting, drainage etc
• Extensive knowledge and experience of the overall coordination of the design
• Excellent English language skills.

SALARY & BENEFITS
• This is a full-time permanent position with a well-known engineering consultancy in Oman in the Middle East
• A salary including accommodation allowance of 1400-1600 OMR per month. This can be discussed on a case-by-case basis and is negotiable for the right person.
• In addition transport allowance is provided
• Medical insurance cover is provided on top of the basic salary
• Mobilisation flights and visa costs.
• Single Status is available only for this position. Candidates can bring their family at their own expense once they have passed probation.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
THIS IS A DESIGN POSITION- PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THIS REQUIREMENT
• This role requires experience of Airport DESIGN from runway improvements to complete airfields. This role involves leading the design of small to large airport projects. ( N.B we are not seeking Airport Communications for this position)
• In this position, you will be engaged in the design analysis and design coordination of Airport Runways Taxiways and all other ancillary requirements for the infrastructure of Airport Runways.
• You will use your experience of the relevant international design practices and standards to oversee and coordinate the design.
• In addition, You will carry out calculations, coordinate the preparation of drawings and prepare design reports and specifications.
• Independently develop engineering designs for Airport Runway projects
• In addition, Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement documents, proposal evaluations, and technical reports.
• You will also manage junior engineers working in your department and coordinate production with other departments.
• You will work alongside the Director and the Senior Design Engineer for Airport projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Salary:
OMR 1,400 to 1,600 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
