Airport Masterplanning Design & Engineering Specialist
Location: Oman (Muscat) | Sector: Elite Engineering Consultancy | Reference: AIR/S/25

Are you a highly experienced Airport Design and Masterplanning Engineer – Aviation Specialist ready to lead the planning, design, and management of major airport development projects in Oman and beyond?

Join our prestigious global engineering consultancy in Oman to drive the strategic execution of complex, large-scale airport infrastructure. This is a critical leadership role for an accomplished professional ready to deliver innovative engineering solutions in challenging geographical environments.

THE ROLE: Lead Airport Infrastructure Programs
The Senior Principal will be the technical and managerial lead for major airport development programs, accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects from concept through operation. You will also serve as the primary technical interface for high-profile government and airline clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Airfield & Terminal Infrastructure Planning

• Oversee the planning and engineering of new airports, including airside (runways, taxiways), terminals, and support infrastructure, as well as
• Develop engineering solutions tailored for airports in complex terrains and difficult geographical conditions.

Other Responsibilities: Regulatory & Aeronautical Studies

• Conduct and oversee complex Aeronautical and Airspace Studies, ensuring rigorous compliance with ICAO, FAA, IATA, and EASA standards.
• Prepare and approve comprehensive airport master plans, in addition, ensuring alignment with all international aviation standards.

Responsibilities: Project & Program Leadership
• Manage large, multidisciplinary airport development projects from concept through delivery, ensuring technical excellence and successful execution.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders through strong communication and exemplary leadership.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, ensuring collaboration, technical excellence, and innovation across the project lifecycle.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: Advanced Airport Planning Design & Engineering Expertise
• We require an accomplished Senior Airport Planning and Engineering Specialist with demonstrable leadership in a fee-earning consultancy environment.

Essential Requirements: Experience & Education
• Minimum 20 Years of professional experience in airport planning, design, and project management.
• Degree in Civil/Aviation Engineering or a related field (Advanced Degree Preferred).

Other Requirements: Technical & Regulatory Compliance
• Expertise in airport master planning and aeronautical studies, with a strong record of delivering large-scale multidisciplinary projects.
• In-depth knowledge of international planning and design standards (ICAO Annexes, FAA, IATA, and EASA Recommended Practices).

Requirements: Consultancy & Leadership Skills

• Significant, demonstrable experience within a major Engineering Consultancy Organisation as well as demonstrating commercial awareness.
• Proven experience working in challenging terrains and environments.
• Excellent leadership as well as strong communication skills for team management and client engagement.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS (Oman Expatriate Package)
• We offer a highly competitive expatriate package for this senior-level role in the Sultanate of Oman:
• Salary: OMR 3,000-3,500 per month
• As well as Accomodation and Transport provided on top of the basic
• Visa & Medical: Visa Costs Covered ( Medical Cover provided)

Salary:
