Job description / Role
One of our customers is looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager based in Sur.
The position is open only for Omani nationals and following are the duties and responsibilities:
- To support in ensuring plant availability by implementing preventing and corrective maintenance strategy and plan
- To ensure effective performance of all BVW assets with in the budget
- Support in development and implementation of maintenance procedure and tools (CMMS)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in management of preventive and corrective maintenance
- Support in controlling the execution of maintenance task
- Support in development of maintenance procedure and programs including safety requirement
- Support in analysis of maintenance incidents and improvement of the maintenance program and procedures accordingly
- Support in ensuring that stocks of spare parts are strictly monitored and kept at optimum levels
- Support in preparing weekly , monthly and yearly reporting related to maintenance activities
- Participate in the development and implementation of CMMS goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; recommends and
implements resulting policies and procedures
- With the maintenance manager, analyses and evaluate preventive maintenance schedules
- Understand, apply and implement QHSE policy, procedures and rules and make sure it is respected by the personal under
his authority including subcontractors
- Development and review of the risk assessment and continual improvement
- Contribute in development and implementation of the prevention plan / work permit
- Report QHSE risks and impacts associated with its activities
- Work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and disciplinary actions if any
- Support in defining & contribute in achieving departmental objectives
- Any additional responsibility by management
Requirements
- BTECH/Higher National Diploma / NVQ Level 4 in maintenance or mechanical engineering (or equivalent professional qualification)
- Minimum 4 years of experience in similar roles
Ability to:
- Clear, concise oral and written communication to prepare and present reports to management, and the general public
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with operation staffs, contractors and the client representative
- Perform the duties of the job for the entire workday and occasional overtime, may be required to work evening, night,
weekend and/or holiday hours
- Ability to learn
- On call duty when required
Knowledge of:
- Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant operation practices and procedures, safe practices and procedures, supervisory
techniques, standards and conduct and work performance
- Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
- Must demonstrate willingness to comply with knowledge of safety rules and equipment, including identification of, precautions
for, and emergency response to:
- Biological and chemical hazards
- Electrical and mechanical hazards
- Asphyxiating, toxic and explosive gases and vapors
- Must be knowledgeable of symbols and standard practices as related to mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of gulf countries is a plus
