Chemistry Teacher

Job description / Role

Oman Private School is seeking a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of teaching Chemistry at a secondary level and advanced level. This immediate position will entail readying students for the Cambridge IGCSE examinations as well as the Sultanate of Oman Bilingual Program (based on Cambridge content); as such, familiarity with IGCSE exams and standards is an asset.

Tasks will include other school related responsibilities, such as:
• Preparing lesson plans
• Grading and reporting
• Quiz/exam preparations
• Communicating with students and parents
• Supervision duties

Salary:
OMR 600 to 1,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Additional benefits: Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and other considerations

Requirements

Successful candidates should have:
• A B.Ed. with focus in chemistry from a recognized academic institute or an equivalent degree
• A minimum of 4 years teaching experience
• Experience teaching secondary chemistry and conducting labs with students
• Native English speaker, or if not a native English speaker, candidates should have a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 or above
• Experience preparing students for international examination standards
• An understanding of the latest pedagogical developments in science and associated curriculum areas
• A motivation to see students excel academically and behaviorally
