Job description / Role
Our client, one of the leading retail chain in the region is looking for a Chief Accountant- Omani National for their branch based in Muscat.
The Chief accountant is accountable for the accuracy for all accounts and responsible to maintain the books of accounts as per corporate financial policies and procedures and also global accounting standards.
The responsibilities of the Chief Accountant - Omani National include:
* Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
* Strict adherence to company financial policies and procedures and global accounting standards.
* Work with both internal and external auditors during internal and external audits.
* To check all the documents received from store(advances,rental,schooling, other advances and reimbursement,etc)
* Review of LPO follow-up(Provision invoice not received)
* Review of all prepayment entries
* Review of Payroll accrual JVs-interface
* Review of Rent & Service Charge booking
* Review AP margin booking
* Review of Inter co reconciliation
* Initiate and review the Payroll preprocess audit reports
* Review of Payroll final process audit reports
* Review the reconciliation of Payroll YTD accrual with GL
* Ensure the effective and efficient operations of the system
* Able to meet the reporting deadlines

Requirements
* 3-4 year's experience in an accounting role.
* A bachelors degree
* Must be Omani National
