Civil Engineer (Site)

Job description / Role

Objectives: To support the assigned project(s) by providing site based support and supervision to proactively coordinate the various activities of the project to ensure timely delivery and adherence to schedules.

Main responsibilities:
• Managing portions of construction projects
• Overseeing building work & undertaking surveys
• Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly
• Supervising contracted staff (if applicable)
• Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager
• Providing technical advice and solving problems on site
• Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork
• Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and negotiating the price of materials
• Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to Site engineers work out on a construction site in all weathers and tend to work on one project at a time.
• Abovementioned are the only some of the responsibilities of this role and are not limited to the same

Requirements

University Qualifications: Bachelors in Civil Engineering

Nature and length of previous experience:
• 5-10 years in a Site based role
• Healthcare experience is preferable
• Oman experience is preferable

Soft Skills and Personality Traits:
• Technical competence in related field
• Experience in working within a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
• Proficient in related software
• Communicates effectively both orally and on paper
• Has a systematic and methodological approach
• Be a dependable & hardworking team player
