Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on safety regulations, Civil Aviation Authority, OAMC and IATA requirements and recommendations.
- Update and maintain a Ground Occurrence Report format.
- Maintain Q-Pulse system up to date with respect to ground incidents reports.
- Develop and implement a programme for ground safety awareness and promotion.
- Conduct ground safety inspections at airport, report findings and ensure follow up action (Remedial Action) is carried out and records maintained.
- Follow-up on all safety recommendations made for ground accidents- incidents and verify the proper closing actions.
- Promote ground safety awareness by making presentation to employees and contribute to the definition of their safety training programs, including handling of hazardous material, first aid, operation of specialized vehicle and equipment and operational safety.
- Assist and provide advice to respective departments in the assigned areas in respect of matters pertaining to Ground Safety requirements.
- Carry out general duties with regard to Safety and accident - incident prevention.
- Ensure all operational staff carrying out duties at airside and adhere to the OAMC - Oman Air Airside Safety Program and also take appropriate action to brief and educate all staff on the said procedures.
- Ensure that all company staffs are fully aware of, and comply with Government, Company and OAMC - Safety requirements.
- The concerned staff has to be available on phone for 24 - 7 and has to come to the work location if required and will have to inform the manager before leaving the base.
- Undertake any other duties related to ground safety as assigned by Officer Ground Safety or Manager Ground Safety.

Requirements

Fresh Bachelor Degree / Diploma in a related discipline preferably in Industrial Safety. OR Specialised certificate / license in the related field with Secondary School and having 4 years of WY experience in similar functions Experience in Ground Safety Department although not mandatory but is desirable and will be an advantage
