Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Dean is responsible for:

1. Coordinating the assessment and development of academic programs within the College.
2. Preparing and revising, as necessary, academic program plans for the College.
3. Promoting and serving as a model for teaching professional achievement and professional service;
4. Overseeing all personnel matters involving academic and non-academic employees including: recruiting, appointment, re-appointment; termination and dismissal; faculty evaluation, tenure, promotion and merit; and the preparation and approval(s) of faculty workload plans and long-range professional development plans.
5. Maintaining good working relationships with faculty and administration in all academic and non-academic areas;
6. Communicating effectively with various constituency within the College, surrounding community and State regarding the College;
7. Maintaining effective communication between students, faculty and Chairs within the College and with other academic unit personnel;
8. Serving as a liaison with relevant professional associations and state and national regulatory and accrediting agencies;
9. Articulating College policy and procedures to members of the College.

Requirements

The Dean should have the following qualities:

• PhD in an appropriate field of study related to Academic teaching at Higher Education Institutes.

• A record of accomplishments in Higher Education and research, and a national and international reputation at academic level.

• Previous experience as a Dean of College.

• An in-depth understanding and intimate knowledge of both research and practice aspects of
teaching at academic Level.

• An extensive and sustained record of scholarly achievement; personnel and budgetary experience.

• An ability and commitment to engage in setting up and developing policies and supervising
the process of implementing them, Lead, integrate, and innovate to improve the work at the college.

• An experience in building programs of excellence consistent with the College’s vision and mission.

• Demonstrated expertise in faculty and staff recruitment and development.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a broad range of constituents including students, staff, faculty and the local community.

• An entrepreneurial and creative approach to programme development.

• History of collaborative relationships with diverse academic disciplines.

• An Experience working with regulatory and accrediting agencies.

• A degree/ certificate in IT
