E-Commerce Manager

The overall scope of the position is to maintain the hotel website, actively update content, in accordance with the Kempinski Corporate manuals and policies. The selected candidate will take care of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), manage online marketing activities for your hotel through development and monitor the representation of the hotel in social media.

Key Responsibilities:

- Overall maintenance of the hotel website, actively updating content in accordance with the Kempinski corporate manuals and policies.
- Search engine Marketing (SEM) where applicable-in accordance with the Kempinski corporate manuals and policies.
- Search engine optimization (SEO) of the hotel website and review of performance thereof - in accordance with the Kempinski corporate manuals and policies.
- Initiation development and implementation of electronic marketing activities such as, but not limited to email marketing, banner placements, link marketing.
- Lead and manage online marketing activities of the hotel through development and implementation of successful/measurable strategies for the key feeder markets All this in line with corporate brand identity, as well as both company and hotel mission/vision.
- Actively manage and review the representation of the hotel on third party internet sites, ensuring a high ranking and accurate information- together with the revenue manager.
- Identify and establish business relationships with local 3rd party marketing managers-together with the revenue manager.
- Actively manage and review the representation of the hotel in social media in strict accordance with the Kempinski corporate policies.
- Maintain and update web channels with the hotel's offers in order to increase the website's traffic, revenue and conversion
- Report and act upon the hotel website statistics (key performance indicators)
- Assist in reaching the targeted goals of the hotel as defined in the sales & marketing plan.
- Basic understanding of Opera channel manager (OCM)
- Understand the Kempinski central system and electronic distribution structure.
- Ensure accuracy of the content featured on the property's as well as third party websites where the hotel distributes inventory.

Primary Objectives:

- Maintain and develop hotel website as a source of booking /revenue.
- Assist in ensuring that hotel is correctly distributed in all web channels (Kempinski and third party channels)
- Contribute hotel content for the corporate website (Kempinski.com) as required and according to the given deadlines and policies.

Main Duties & Priorities:

- Ensure website content is always up to date in all languages available, updated according to the Microsoft Office SharePoint server (MOSS) manual and the corporate guidelines.
- Liaise with the website agency and corporate office for any website enhancements.
- Review and maintain rate and room type description in OCM (e.g. translations, images,etc) in coordination with the relevant stakeholders .
- Establish, develop and maintain a keyword matrix for the hotel and consider when designing website content .
- Ensure all content (pictures and text ) is according to corporate standards.
- Create and implement promotional content for special offers and packages in coordination with the hotel's Marketing and revenue managers.
- Review and amend hotel information available on Kempinski.com
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Ensure all efficient use of keywords in website content.
- Review the ranking of the hotel website on search engines and update the hotel website with relevant search terms and update keyword frequency to ensure that the hotel website gets the best possible page rank.
- Review and monitor both the content and search engine ranking of competitiveness of the Kempinski hotel website.
- Update and optimize meta descriptions and tags
- Follow a comprehensive linking Structure.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Ensure all efficient use of keywords in website content.
- Review the ranking of the hotel website on search engines, and update the hotel website with relevant search terms and adequate keyword frequency to ensure that the hotel website gets the best possible page rank.
- Review and monitor both the content and search engine ranking of competitors' websites and react appropriately to maintain the competitiveness of the Kempinski hotel website.
- Update and optimize meta descriptions and tags.
- Follow a comprehensive linking Structure.
- EMail Marketing
- Actively develop and maintain a database of hotel email newsletter subscribers through both and offline solicitation.
- Prepare and send with regular frequency a hotel email newsletter to all guests/individuals that have subscribed to receive the hotel e-newsletter.
- Ensure emails are in line with the strategy and corporate guidelines (i.e. corporate identity )
- Social Media
- Update and manage the hotel's representation on social media as per corporate policies and guidelines.
- E Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives for key feeder markets to increase the number of qualified visitors to the hotel website thus increasing revenues and conversion
- Identify and develop joint e-commerce initiatives with qualified local regional and /or national partner/sites.
- Establish and implement the hotel's annual advertising plan for web channels assist on matters related to creative and media planning.
- Ensure brand and marketing message on web channels is consistent with overall marketing activities i.e. special promotions /offers etc.
- Research and benchmark electronic media adverts and articles to ensure that the hotel remains a market leader in public relations.
- Review and monitor your hotel's primary competition set on regular basis and ensure /maintain competitiveness throughout the markets.
- Photo Optimization
- Ensure the picture quality loaded on the web site is according to the corporate identity guidelines.
- Avoid picture duplication on the website.
- Identify signature shots representing both the hotel and te brand.
- Website Analytics
- Analyze the website user behavior, site performance, source of referrals etc, and act accordingly.
- Analyze the website statistical package and/or from the hotel's Opera property management system.

Support:
- Monitor and assist in ensuring rate parity together with the revenue director /manager throughout all web distribution channels.
- Support and liaise with corporate office in all initiatives and in which hotel feedback /cooperation in necessary.

Training/Education:
- Ensure participation in all necessary training offered by the corporate office and external suppliers where possible

Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel

Requirements

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment, including oral and written language skills in English; Any additional languages are an advantage.
- Operational knowledge of the role
- Luxury Hotel Experiences.
- Communication skills
- Basic knowledge of hotel operations & Computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Opera; Basic knowledge of Micros is an advantage
- Passion for hospitality and the European elegance of service.
