Electrical Designer

Job description / Role

Responsibilities

The Electrical Designer will be responsible for:

• Working closely with discipline project engineers and designers and other discipline engineers in the delivery of project engineering and construction deliverables, quality control drawings, and overall project support.
• Developing designs in PDMS and new drawings in electronic format (AutoCAD).
• Implementing hand marked-up changes to drawings.
• Producing drafting 2D drawings from PDMs and using PLS-CAD for OHL design.
• Participating in site visits to gather existing information.
• Ensuring loading and work distribution among designers.
• Maintaining standard drawing templates.
• Following and ensuring Quality Management System requirements are met in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements.
• Providing quality assurance reviews and detailed checking support.
• Ensuring designers work for FEED Office QMS requirements.
• Maintaining and monitoring drawing development progress.
• Meeting project commitments and delivering to schedule.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce cycle time and cost.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or ITI or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in FEED or Engineering experience.
• Minimum 12 years experience in the oil and gas industry, with a minimum of 6 years experience with 3D drawing systems (e.g., PDMS) and AutoCAD on major capital projects.
