ELV Engineer

Job description / Role

SUMMARY:
- The ELV Engineer is an expert specialized in Security/Special/Audio-Video systems for high level complex integrated projects. The role has the following peculiarities.
- Capability to work in a multicultural environment interfacing internal and external stakeholders.
- The Engineer can act as system engineer, lead engineer, project engineering manager it depends from the project and the experience.
- Capability to provide System engineering services such as system design, implementation, configuration and commissioning.
- Capability to work closely with vendors and stakeholders to deploy solutions from design to user acceptance.
- Capability to work in a Team of engineers and coordinate with them when required.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- Ability to define and implement the design of a system in compliance to established system architecture, project specifications and drawings, security policies, standards and best practices and ability to author and maintain all the related support documentation.
- Deep understanding of a system specification in order to implement the system and select the related devices accordingly.
- Provisioning of technical services for new system proposals including Bill Of Material implementation and system optimization.
- Preparation of technical documentation such as System Description, System Manual, System Specification, etc.
- Capability to coordinate with the CAD department by providing all the required inputs for the production of documents such as General Arrangement, System Block Diagrams, System Interconnection, preliminary detailed design engineering drawings including as-built drawings, etc.
- Active participation in meeting with customers, consultants, manufacturers and other technical personnel.
- Ability to create detailed technical design specifications and use cases.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Specific Security System Certifications (e.g. vendors certifications).
- Knowledge of main Devices, Topologies, Architectures, Signals Transmission Technologies and main Vendors of Security Systems such as CCTV, IDS, PIDS, ISMS, VMS, PAGA, UVSS/ANPR, F&G, Gate Management, Thermal Imaging.
- Knowledge of PLC and knowledge of Power Distribution Systems is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Data Communications and Network Systems appropriate to Security Systems.
- Experience in design of one or more of the following platforms (Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, Tyco, CEM, Synectics, Siemens, Honeywell).
- System analysis and design experience in mapping user problems to reusable design and technology solutions
- Good understanding of design tools as well as development tools and technologies to help in implementation of rapid prototypes or to solve integration problems.
- Knowledge of application, database, operating system, and network issues for both clients and servers with a variety of operating systems, server hardware, and network topologies.
- Proficient PC Skills Including Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Project And Presentation Software, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent (required).

EXPERIENCE:
- 6+ years working knowledge of Security Systems including Physical Security and Control Automation Systems for Design, Implementation, Site Supervision and Commissioning.

CERTIFICATION:
- Specific Security System Certifications (e.g. vendors certifications).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- English (fluent written and spoken) is required.
- Arab (preferred skill).

- Teamwork skills, Communication Skills, Presentation and Facilitating skills.
