Overview

Wood is recruiting for an Engineering Design System Administration - E3D / PDMS to join its Projects team, focusing on delivering across FEED and detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the set-up of AutoCAD project databases, development, maintenance, training, and user support for the specific engineering design system.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Design System Administration - E3D / PDMS will be responsible for:

• Possessing solid knowledge and experience (multiple years) of AutoCAD project administration in the support of projects (including support of an AutoCAD user community) within the Greenfield and Brownfield environments.
• Exposure and experience with Oracle, C languages, PML, LISP, and Visual Basic would be most desirable.
• Possessing strong AutoCAD and interface database knowledge.
• Possessing broad onshore design experience with quality control and checking skills, and awareness of fabrication techniques. Knowledge of onshore oil and gas production facility design standards and specifications is required.
• Ability to effectively interface with multiple communities, including project managers, engineering managers, discipline engineers/designers, vendors, and other team leaders.
• Hardware knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project).
• Complete understanding of FEED and detail design in Greenfield and Brownfield deliverables for onshore projects.
• Understanding the scope of each project and capability to create AutoCAD project database structures that will enable the 2D design and subsequent creation of deliverables from the AutoCAD Interface PDM databases. This includes interfacing the AutoCAD system with other software vendors and in-house developed databases.
• Ensuring Quality Management System requirements are met in line with ISO 9001-2015 / API Q2 2nd Ed.
• Coordinating multi-discipline design expertise using 2D AutoCAD systems.
• Working closely with Design Supervisor, EDS Supervisor, Project Engineers, Project Management, and Multi-discipline Engineers in the forecasting, scheduling of man hours, cost, project deliverables, quality control, design input, and overall project support.
• Recommending, designing, and implementing work process improvements.

• Requires a minimum of an associate degree or equivalency in the computer drafting or engineering technology-related field with at least 10 years of experience in applying the discipline skills to upstream oil and gas projects with experience on major capital projects.
• Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent time-based application experience.
• Working and delivering in a multi-cultural environment.
• Proven experience in supporting the PDMS/E3D systems for all aspects of the system and its interfaces.
• Proven experience in configuring the system for company-specific requirements.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting, presenting, and training the system to others at all levels within the business.
