Wood are actively seeking expressions of interest for Sr. Project Control (Planning & Cost) role
This role will execute the activities and processes associated with project controls in the project. Apply and expand hands-on experience on all planning, cost estimation, risk management, cost control and reporting aspects for the oil and gas industry. Responsible for updating and monitoring all FEED/EPC contractor performance and developing reports and solutions as required.

- Execute the activities and processes associated with project controls in Morjan Project. Apply and expand hands-on experience on all planning, cost estimation, risk management, cost control and reporting aspects for the oil and gas industry. Responsible for updating and monitoring all FEED/EPC contractor performance and developing reports and solutions as required.
- Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Fully familiar with international codes, standards and recommended practices to be applied for oil and gas projects during FEED/EPC phases of execution. He shall be experienced to develop and monitor all planning aspects in detail. His ability to evaluate contractor performance and issue all progress is corrected. Perform activities like performing Schedule Risk Analyses (SRA) and Risk workshops.
- He shall be responsible for developing all reports required from the project team and attend all FEED/EPC contractors weekly and monthly meetings.
- Lead the consolidation and input planning data supply, analyze these data, identify deviations and communicate these deviations.
- Deliver the monthly local plan that optimizes/maximizes the gross margin using the LP model.
- Communicate the output of the local plan to the Morjan Project team after getting the required approval.
- Evaluation and communication of marginal economic drivers and preparation of case studies on medium term (1 month to 1 year) time horizon to optimize supply, refining, petrochemicals, logistics, and sales.
- Update procedures as the organization continuously improves.
- Assist the various departments within OQ in establishing and developing cost forecasting strategies, policies and procedures.
- Recommend required updates or improvements in cost engineering policies and procedures in line with leading practices and applicable laws.
- Study and understand all relevant project documents relating to the cost management of allocated project(s).
- Setting up project/projects within computerized cost system to agreed format.
- Establishing project control budgets based on the client approved project control estimate.
- Assisting project management in identifying and gaining approval of estimates/change requests.
- Perform a variety of cost engineering functions including cost control, budget preparations, forecasting, and cost reporting under limited supervision.
- Reviewing cost commitment and expenditure information (for all cost elements), for input to the computerized cost control and reporting system on a weekly basis.
- Producing regular cost reports and advising management of any forecast cost overruns as soon as possible, maintaining comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders.
- Establish cost breakdown structure (CBS) and integrate with WBS.
- Review all POs as issued for cost committed.
- Any other duties appropriate to this position.
- Report turnaround and project actual vs. baseline cost status as required.
- Report earned value per vendor and identify trends that impact the final cost projections.
- Prepare final cost report and invoice/bill to client.
- Review proposed cost changes with construction personnel, client and contractors.
- Review project man-hours and the allocation of man-hours in conjunction with planning on a weekly basis.
- Manage staff and third-party activities.
- Development of local young engineers and providing development programs.
Qualifications
- 10 years+ experience in planning, scheduling and cost control roles.
- 5 years+ experience in oil and gas, power or petrochemical industries in project execution.
- 5 years+ experience in using scheduling tools like Primavera.
