Job description / Role
The successful candidate will be working for one of the prestigious Poultry Companies in the Sultanate of Oman. The Feed Mill Manager will be responsible for the feed mill operations and staff management.
Key Responsibilities
• Overall in charge of the feed mill operations and the management of staff.
• Responsible for the plant maintenance and all the feed milling equipment including other equipment needed to perform duties such as loaders, scales etc.- Develop and administer effective maintenance programs.
• Raw material and feed ingredient stock keeping and ordering to ensure the required inventory levels are kept.
• Schedule feed mill activities to ensure a smooth supply of feed to the farms and also supply of raw materials.
• Ensure consistency and quality standards are met in the areas such as Grinding, Batching , Bin Management, Load out.
• Ensure raw materials meet the standards for quality and nutritional value.
• Formulate feed to meet the requirements for birds in different stages of production.
• Periodically testing the nutritional value of feed and raw materials.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and information regarding feed mill
equipment, operations, and nutritional issues.
• Ensure timely feed delivery and pick up.
• Ensure equipment inspections, cleaning and calibrations to assure quality control.
• Investigating nutritional disorders and the safe storage of feeds.
• Ensure all employees are trained on safety and continue to stay up to date.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports.
• Ensure the least cost, best feed is formulated.
Requirements
• Preferably Degree in Feed Nutrition or at least degree in agriculture, animal science, poultry science, feed science & management, or related fields.
• At least 8 years proven working experience in feed mill production and operation.
• Experience in automated feed processing and related equipment
• Sound understanding of poultry nutrition and feed formulation.
• Preferably has background or knowledge in veterinary.
• Familiar with / understanding of HAACP, ISO certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
