Head of Digital Innovation & FinTech (Open Banking)

Job description / Role

This role leads the strategic direction, design, and delivery of next?generation digital banking platforms, fintech integrations, and open?banking ecosystems. Working closely with senior technology leadership, you will guide two specialised teams across digital channels and fintech integration to deliver customer?centric, compliant, and future?ready digital solutions.

Description

* Define and deliver the digital banking vision, roadmap, and multi?year transformation strategy.
* Lead API and open?banking initiatives, including API gateway design, secure data exchange, and fintech ecosystem integrations.
* Build and lead teams across Digital Channels and Fintech Integration, ensuring strong governance and quality execution.
* Develop monetisation strategies around APIs and digital financial services.
* Oversee platform modernisation, cloud adoption, microservices, and resilient system architecture.
* Ensure regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance alignment across all digital initiatives.
* Manage partnerships with fintechs, vendors, and technology providers to accelerate innovation.
* Collaborate closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure integrated digital delivery.
* Monitor performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement across platforms and teams.

* 10+ years' experience in digital banking, fintech, or digital transformation, including 5+ years in leadership.
* Proven success in delivering digital banking platforms (mobile, internet, onboarding) and ecosystem integrations.
* Strong technical capability in APIs, integration, security, open banking, and core banking connectivity.
* Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, and modern digital architecture.
* Ability to operate at both strategic and hands?on technical design levels.
* Skilled in stakeholder management, vendor collaboration, and cross?functional leadership.
* Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., cybersecurity, AML/KYC, open banking mandates).
* Track record in developing fintech partnerships and driving API monetisation opportunities.
