Job summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive ICT engineer to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of information and communication technology systems on a major marine infrastructure construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring seamless communication, data management, and IT infrastructure performance across the project site.

Key responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain ICT infrastructure including servers, switches, routers, wireless networks, and communication systems.

Provide technical support for all ICT-related systems used on-site, including construction management software, CCTV, access control, and VoIP systems.

Ensure cybersecurity protocols are implemented and maintained across all digital platforms and networks.

Coordinate with internal departments and subcontractors to ensure ICT systems meet operational requirements.

Manage ICT asset inventory, procurement, and lifecycle documentation.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures.

Support remote access and connectivity for project stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with company ICT policies and international standards.

Prepare technical reports and documentation for audits and project reviews.

Qualifications & experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferable.

Minimum 5 years of experience in ICT roles, preferably within the construction or oil & gas sectors.

Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server management, and cybersecurity.

Experience with ICT systems in remote or site-based environments is highly desirable.

Familiarity with marine or heavy civil construction projects is a plus.

Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.

Additional requirements

Willingness to be based full-time on-site in Oman.

Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Valid passport and ability to travel as required.
