Lead Utilities Engineer
Oman

POSITION OVERVIEW:
• Independently develops methods and solutions for engineering problems; selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the various design engineering requirement on medium to large infrastructure related projects or studies.
• Completes a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analysis.
• The Utilities Lead at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices.
• Responsible to lead, support and provide necessary guidance to a group that consists of engineers and CAD designers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Performance
• Assist the Project Manager/s in meeting company/project design targets.
• Contribute to meet project budgets.
• Responsible for achieving the allocated schedules for the design engineering aspects of projects.

Project Execution
• Perform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure technical reviews and compliance of design engineering with Quality Management Systems to maintain and improve high quality deliverables to our clients.
• Target meeting or exceeding client expectation.
• Prepare engineering reports.
• Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
• Frequently interface with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
• Review supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers and engineers working on the same project.
• Complete other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Personnel Recruitment and Development of Staff
• Assist if requested in the training and development of junior personnel to strengthen our capability and make us more competitive in current and future markets.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized College/University.
• 15 years postgraduate experience on infrastructure engineering design particularly water and wastewater networks including pumping works with progressively increasing responsibility. Responsible for supervision of design resources.
• Must include periods with large consultancy practice.
• Previous experience of building network models using SewerCAD, WaterCAD, EPANET, and similar hydraulic design software.
• Extensive and knowledgeable computer skills (AutoCAD).
• Ability to implement Quality Management System on projects effectively.
• Working overseas or in the region essential.
• Good spoken and written English is essential.
• Oman Driving license.
