Job description / Role
Job Description:
• As the line Chef you are responsible for the daily food preparation.
• Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the restaurant.
• Prepare the daily mise en place for all menus according to required standards.
• Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks.
• Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques.
• Support the chefs in the daily operation and work.
• To adhere to cleaning and maintenance schedules cleaning your workstation as you go, maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work environment at all times.
• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables).
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Report and follow the executive chef or Chef de Parte instructions.
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Requirements
• Male and female candidates can apply, with a minimum 1-year experience in service, friendly, proactive and willing to learn new skills.
• A good command of the English language is required and the Arabic language is an added bonus.
• Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role.
• Proven customer service experience as a manager.
• Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with an ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
