Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Involve with Senior Manager – Ramp Services in planning stage of resources ensuring to provide timely customer service requests in line with Safety and Security guidelines set by the company.
- Plan and schedule individual servicing of equipment and all communication devices in order to ensure that they are in good working conditions at all times,
- Monitor, plan, schedule and oversee all manpower requirements, staff attendance and sick leave, plan rostering and staff swaps to cover operational requirements.
- Evaluates business objectives and accordingly proposes the sectional resources budget for manpower, equipment, stores etc. to the Senior Manager Ramp Services after consultation with the resource planning unit.
- Influences Customer Airlines, Airport Authorities and third-parties to ensure that standardized safe dispatch best practices are carried out at Muscat International Airport. Maintains close contact with Safety to ensure 360º feedback on ramp safety issues.
- Manage the delivery of cost effective services within agreed budget. Monitor and control costs through effective resource management of staff in cooperation with Resource Planning and Real Time allocation unit. Continual review and adjustment of expenditure to meet fluctuations in demand to deliver savings against budget and forecasts.
- Work in close cooperation with other Ramp Services units to ensure the aircraft turnaround process is seamless and provides customers with a quality product. Look for continuous improvement opportunities in the redistribution or merge of functions within the units to improve services and reduce unit costs.
- Develops and fosters effective working relationships with all customer airlines ensuring that the highest levels of customer service are offered and service level agreements are upheld. Also supports the Senior Manager Ramp Services in managing ongoing working relationships with external departments and stakeholders, such as OAMC, ROP, Immigration, and internal departments such as GSEW, HR, Cargo, Quality & Procedures, etc, in order to plan and deliver the provision of a comprehensive aircraft turnaround process.
- Ensure that any changes made to aircraft handling procedures, whether for Oman Air or other customer airlines are communicated to both Training and Safety to ensure they meet both training and compliance requirements. Ensure that all aircraft turnaround teams are provided required training to ensure productive and safe outputs.
- Work closely with Airport Systems to plan and develop process that employ technology to bring service and cost benefits to the unit. Build and foster productive and mutually beneficial relationships with other Airport Operations business units to ensure that services across the airport and various business units are congruent, seamless and aim to improve services to customers, and safety of staff, equipment and aircraft assets.
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of staff, equipment, facilities and aircraft assets in accordance with corporate, local and international standards and regulations. Promotes a ‘safety culture’ through a regime of staff briefings, corrective feedback, and audits to continually raise safety awareness. Engages Oman Air Safety to support the business unit meet its internal safety targets and KPIs.
- Stakeholder of the Ramp Services business continuity and Emergency Response Plans. Continually reviews the unit responsibilities under these plans and ensures staff are trained where required.
- Continuously monitor industry trends to allow benchmarking of best practices, and where appropriate recommend changes - introduction of new technology to improve efficiency.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline with 8 years of relevant work experience preferably in Airline/Ground Handling either above or below the wing (in one or more core areas such as ramp, BHU, load control, passenger services and cargo) in any major international airport.
- Master’s degree in the related discipline will be advantage.
