Job description / Role
Strategic
• Develop strategies and implement effective Emergency Response plans for the company in keeping with the corporate and commercial objectives, for aircraft and non aircraft related emergencies in accordance with the contingency planning legislation and external factors.
• Responsible to plan and develop a practical and theoretical training process across the company, to ensure all staff members who are directly engage in Emergency response duties are adequately trained to understand the situational demands and to gear staff to face the challenges with limited resources within very limited time.
• Responsible to evaluate and improve the response capabilities of the airline by means of upgrading the Emergency response infrastructure facilities, IT systems, Emergency Kits, Emergency Service provider agreements and enriching the relationships with the external entities.
• Identify and exploit opportunities, which would enable WY to develop, maintain and advantage mutual support agreements with other carriers.
• Operation
• Compile, develop and implement Corporate Emergency response procedures to provide guidance to Oman Air staff in assuring prompt response to an emergency.
• Direct and oversee Station Management teams to establish out station Emergency procedures and plans ensuring compliance with local emergency orders and contingency legislation in due consideration for Corporate Emergency response procedures.
• Formulate and establish activation and notification of Emergency procedures and resources to ensure effective executions of the Emergency response team members and facilities.
• Manage the training process by executing and planning and conducting the training programs to enhance the standards-Skills-knowledge of all Home base volunteers - out-station staff and the appointed key post holders of the Corporate Emergency Response Plan.
• Organize and conduct partial emergency response exercises within the Company periodically, in order to ensure strengths are evaluated and weakness are eliminated towards a swift and effective response by making use of the available resources on-hand.
• Direct Oman Air Divisions and Departments when conducting joint exercises to ensure specific needs for joint emergency operations and each other emergency response systems are recognized.
• Prepare, Manage and Control the annual budget for the Corporate Emergency Response Plan system wide, in consultation with Regional managers, Other Departments -Unit Directors and Heads of the management teams.
• Represent Oman Air at Forums Strategy Planning Groups, Emergency Committee, IATA Sub Committee to ensure that supporting infrastructure meets the Airline’s and Authorities in the joint management of crisis.
• Responsible to develop and manage the, Emergency Response incident Management System towards prompt activation during crisis.
• Responsible to evaluate and recommend all ER related Service interface agreement towards proper implementation.
• Manage the auditing process related to Emergency Response covering the network.
• The concerned staff has to be available on phone for 24 - 7 and has to come to the work location if required and will have to inform the manager before leaving the base.
• Undertake any other duties or responsibilities related to ERP functions as assigned by Senior Manager – Safety & ERP.
Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in a related discipline or in Airlines Safety Management with 8 years aviation experience or in airline emergency response planning of which 3 years in a Supervisory role. OR Specialized certificate / license in the related discipline with Secondary School and having 14 years of WY / Aviation experience in similar functions.
• Master Degree in a related discipline or in Airlines Safety Management will be advantage.
• Proficiency in English (Spoken & Written). Knowledge of Arabic will be advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office Strong organizational skills & good presentation skills
• Excellent negotiation skills with good financial skills & Contract Administration Knowledge of compliance and audit skills
• High level of EQ to handle disasters related to operational and strategic scenarios.
• Experience in participation in full scale exercises by planning, conducting training and having a major disaster/emergency management role during the exercise.
• Strategic and innovative thinking highly motivated and response driven towards implementation of ERP Assertive self-starter & Ability to influence others.
• Well versed in ERP and extremely passionate about ERP
