Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The basic function of this position is to manage the Bio-Hazardous Healthcare Waste Treatment Plants, to plan and study new Waste Management projects.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Managing the operation of the Medical Waste Treatment Plant.
• Establish/review and monitor plant KPI’s
• Assure providing Quality medical waste services to the Healthcare waste institutions as per the contract requirements.
• Management of collection and transportation of medical waste as per WHO regulations.
• Operating the plant as per the contract requirements.
• Guide the operation conditions to meet the environmental emissions of Omani/European standard requirements.
• Coordinating the monthly management review committee regarding the MWTP operation, maintenance, etc.
• Deciding on the preventive actions required to restore normal conditions in MWTP.
• Assure maintaining the plant records (operation, maintenance, …etc.).
• Providing the monthly reports of plant operation, maintenance and consumables to the client.
• Analyzing the MWTP performance, consumables, utilities & expenses and report to the management as required.
• Providing the MWTP analysis reports to the line manager.
• Identification of non-conformities and investigation of the potential causes and associated impacts and lead the preventive measures of control.
• Deciding the corrective actions required to restore normal conditions.
• Communication with the client engineer for any obstacles those may arise during daily activities and taking the necessary corrective actions.
• Arrange the regular meetings with the client, report to his line manager and act effectively on the concluded action plan.
• Contacting with suppliers for plant requirements.
• Assure effective Implementation of QHSE regulations and follow up the corrective actions resulting from audits, HSE inspections, etc.
• Planning the staff training as required and assure maintaining their competency.
• Responsible for operating and maintaining all plant equipment as per the manufacturer’s recommendation.
• Responsible for implementing the HSE measures and assure maintaining related records (vaccination & immunization, medical check-up of staff) and communicate any HSE related issues to the client.
• Planning of fire drills simulation and firefighting training for MWTP staff.
• Ensures quality & safety within functions/ tasks performed by him/herself and staff reporting to him/her.
• Develops policies, procedures and instructions necessary to ensure effective planning, operation and control of the department’s activities
• Develops documentation necessary to ensure effective control of health and safety aspects of all activities and promotes health and safety awareness within the department

• Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self & others in the organization.
• Responsible to comply with the applicable Quality, health & safety and Environmental procedures, instructions, requirements, laws, regulations from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies
• Responsible for reporting to his/her superiors\' occurrences, events, violations and acts that may affect health, safety and company reputation.
• Performs other duties as requested and other responsibilities related to position

Requirements

This position requires a university degree, with 5 years of work experience as in similar plants Management

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
• English and Arabic is a must
• Engineering Degree/Technical background is preferred
• Proficient in MS Applications

Basic work relations
• Works closely with the Plant Engineer to delegate tasks and manage the plant activities
