Employment: Full Time

The Printer Specialist position is a highly skilled technician level where the employee is capable of a full workload. The individual is responsible for the timely and cost effective maintenance and repair of all Production cable printers and related equipment, and for promoting and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Performs routine mechanical and preventive maintenance duties in maintenance and repairs of ink-jet and wheel printers and length markers used in Production Department.

Context:
• Carry out breakdown maintenance repairs of Production cable printers and length markers.
• Perform the calibration, testing, trouble shooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies using moderately complex blue prints and electrical schematics
• Perform a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance of Production cable printers.
• Setting up and adjustment of Production cable printers following established practises.
• Monitors the usage of consumables such as ink, solvents and tapes. Responsible for controlling consumption, cost reduction and staying up to date with latest developments.
• Maintain high level Customer satisfaction by clarifying Customer needs and ensuring that they are met
• Maintain clean and proper housekeeping practises after completion of work
• Complete and maintain all necessary documentation, computerised if necessary. Complete all administrative aspects of the job on time and error-free.
• Follow all proper shop operational procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Requirements

• ITI or Industrial Trade Apprentice certificate in printer maintenance
• 5 years experience or above

Job Specific Skills:
Working knowledge of ink-jet and wheel printers. Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
