Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Objectives: Responsible for the overall project management function, providing leadership, create and maintain a uniform approach to project management and serve as a change agent for continuous improvement through improved/enhanced methodologies; apply project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques in supporting project leads and driving the development and application of project management methodology and culture.

Main responsibilities: Strategic:
- Develop tools and techniques employed in project management.
- Translate the strategic goals of the Business Line into implications for the operation's performance, objectives, quality, speed, dependability, flexibility and cost.

Operational:
- Serve as custodian of records of past projects to easy reference within Urban.
- Ensure seamless flow of information amongst different projects within Urban.
- Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing methods and procedures that are efficient, effective and meet good business practice.
- Accountable for keeping project plans, schedules and status reporting deliverables up-to-date.
- Developing schedules, levelling project resources, generating baselines, identifying risks to project milestone fidelity, and tracking project budget, schedule and scope.
- Manage multiple, inter-related, inter-dependent projects, with diverse teams and project managers.
- Work with internal customers to define scope of projects; ensures appropriate resources are assigned appropriate project activities; develop, articulate, and ensure that project milestones are met.
- Ensure that project metrics for all projects throughout the organization are kept and maintain centralized accountability for management of project portfolio; work with senior management to provide strategic and tactical advice on program/project planning and execution.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope identifying resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
- Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
- Effectively apply project management methodologies and enforces project standards including preparation for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimize company exposure and risk on project.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately including legal documents
- Track and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
- Prepare & Manage project budget and accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization
- Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
- Follow up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
- Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
- Understand our pricing model and billing procedures
- Identify business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
- Lead proposal efforts including completing project scoping and assessments.
- Effectively oversee all project communication activities including team and client meetings, regular status meetings with project team, communication to superiors
- Resolve and/or escalate project issues in a timely fashion to ensure they do not affect the progress of the project.
- Manage overall client relationship including client expectations, day-to-day client interaction, lasting relationship for follow-on business.
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives.
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Approve team members' time and expense reports in a conscientious and timely manner.
- Review the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
- Comply with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
- Report to management on all project related issues
- Perform any other work related duties as assigned by Chief Enterprise Officer

People:
- Ensure effective communication of corporate information to employees within the team and across the organization including relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the performance management process and its linkages to learning and development, compensation, promotion, career development and succession planning. This is done in full collaboration with GCFO and the HR function.
- Coach and mentor direct subordinates to develop their skills and ensure continuous people development

Duration: Permanent

Salary:
OMR 2,500 to 2,700 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- Degree in Civil or Architecture Engineering or related discipline
- Graduate degree in relevant discipline is required
- Professional certification from relevant institutions will be an added advantage
- Min 15 years of experience with 6 years of relevant experience in fit-out works in a similar role
