Mission/core purpose of the job

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that Company’s engineering and technical standards are implemented in the field through a combination of the following:
• Technical training and competence certification
• Quality assurance of completed works on site
• Communication & execution of technical bulletins
• Verification & investigation of component failure reports
• In field warranty claim activities
• Assistance with new product introduction trials

Escalations:

• Improve productivity and quality through leading practice initiatives
• Reporting
• Provide inputs to the Manager (as required) relating to progress made within the department and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation

Project Delivery:
• Assist in developing, coordinating, and driving requirements and schedules to ensure quality and timely delivery
• Lead and/or assist in the development of statements of work, as required
• Coordinate and review technical work done by other engineers, technicians, other support staff, vendors, and subcontractors
• Reviewing and designing In-Building distributed antenna systems (DAS) and make sure they are operational functioning as per company standard and specifications.
• Generating and presenting Technical Support reports.
• IBS troubleshooting, upgrade and formulation of recommendations for performance improvement of existing systems and provisioning of IBS colocations.
• Participate in the development of innovative service provision and of 5G technologies and related requirements into towers infrastructure and power systems.
• Ensure that solutions proposed by the vendors adhere to defined standards and best practices and/or assist in the development of these standards and best practices.
• Ensure the adaptation of SHEQ culture within the project teams
• Coordinate and approval tower structure maintenance program including Structural audit and strengthening
• Coordinate the site built Acceptance Process and Site Handover Process with maintenance team.

Operational Delivery:
• Establish, implement and maintain the quality awareness throughout our Network, project contractors & maintenance partners
• Ensure that all new equipment installation across network meet acceptable quality installation practices
• Work with all contractors on process training matrices. All training needs to be updated on the process matrix, to ensure that methods that create quality preventive maintenance and equipment installations, are implemented across network and tracked for improvement
• Carry out audits to ensure SOP instructions are being followed, and approved equipment and tools are being used, in order to maintain service quality levels.

Requirements

Requirements:
• Educated to degree level
• 4-6 years’ experience in a quality engineering role,
• Registration as professional engineer (prefer)
• Strong understanding of a tower business
