Reliability / Healthcare / Resident Engineer - Rotating Equipments (Centrifugal Pumps)

Job Purpose:
To manage and execute major pump refurbishment projects especially from a reliability and healthcare point of view for multiple sites. Projects would include but is not limited to predictive and preventive maintenance and overhaul or different kinds of Pumps at sites or within the workshop.

Job Description:
• To work closely with HME's client to assist in providing round the clock reliability, healthcare and preventive maintenance services for the various rotating equipments, mainly pumps, used for various purposes at different site locations in a timely and economical manner.
• You will be responsible to develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan for the various pumps at various locations and will also be responsible to at times attend to breakdown requests from the various client operating sites.
• Conduct on site hydraulic performance testing using thermodynamic, ultrasonic or conventional methods and perform vibration analysis and alignments on pumps and advise the client on the future course of action in terms of short term and long term solutions.
• To conduct RCA surveys & design reviews on rotating equipment & inspection reports
• To work closely with the site repair and maintenance team and to ensure that all the necessary information regarding the bad actors and all previous history of repair and maintenance on the pumps are gathered and documented for further discussions with clients and HME team.
• Work closely with the design and engineering team of HME to advise and analyse upgrade, re rate and other possible design changes to improve reliability and performance of the pumps.
• To monitor all the recommended and approved work completion within the committed time frame by coordinating with all the stake holders involved in the activities
• Monitor and control the contract scope of work and track any extra works as variations and submit variation proposal through PMT.
• Develop new/productive processes in order to improve the efficiency of operations.
• To provide basic pump fundamental training packages both internally & externally to Hydro
•Undertake market/competitor intelligence activities so as to maximize opportunities to the business
• Ensure that HSE procedures and regulations are followed to achieve ZERO LTI and without any damage to property and environment.
• Ensure competency level of people by identifying and providing necessary training for HME staff and client staff as required .
• Ensure that repair and maintenance jobs are in compliance to Project specifications/procedures and in line with the contract.
• Engage with the client personnel in a proactive manner and update the management on the various deliverables periodically.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Engineering Graduate/Diploma / HND (Mechanical Preferred)

• Minimum Experience: Overall 15 to 20 years of experience with at least 10 years of relevant (maintenance and rebuild of various rotating equipment’s including all kinds of industrial pumps) industry experience and 5 years of team management experience.

Job-Specific Skills:
• Must be able to work within strict HSE guidelines and should be able to develop site risk assessments, job safety analysis, permit-to-work, hot working, cold working, confined space entry, working at heights and equipment isolation.
• Hands-on experience of disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly and testing of all centrifugal pump types; vertical, horizontal, split casing, multi-stage, barrel, between bearings and overhung and must be able to perform the tasks listed above.
• Knowledge and hands on experience of repair and refurbishment of other OEM Pumps namely but not limited to: Sulzer, KSB, Ingersoll Rand, ITT Goulds, Pacific, DeLaval, Worthington, Byron Jackson, Others.
• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&ID drawings and must be aware of tolerances, limits and fits used in the oil and gas industry.
• Knowledge of using the CMM and ability to use software’s such as solidworks to collect data for reverse engineering will be an added advantage.
• Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of machining parts, use of various precision measuring instruments and torqueing tools for the various rotating equipment parts.
• Fluent in report writing. The candidate must be able to write articulate reports including; strip down reports, inspection reports, as-built reports, field service reports and recommendation reports.
• Must have the ability to create pump / rotating equipment refurbishment plans which include but is not limited to method statements, tools and infrastructure requirement, parts to be replaced, parts to be refurbished, labor input along with approximate time frame and activities break down.
• Must have knowledge of the various testing (NDE, Hydrostatic, Vibration, Alignment,) activities and the supporting documents needed to get the pump / parts approved before it’s sent back to the client.
• Should have prior experience of installation and commissioning of refurbished / repaired pumps back into the system with minimum operational disruption.
• Must have the ability to support bid coordination and estimation as required.
• Guide the procurement / purchase team to ensure on time and cost effective purchasing on major projects
• Ensure all necessary paperwork such as completion certificates are signed off appropriately.
• Responsible for the overall direction and management of Projects through designated team of engineers and technicians on site and in the workshops.
• Ensure Competency and training requirements are met for all pump fitters/ mechanics and technicians.
• Resolve all the administrative site issues as required.
• International experience and working in multi-cultural environment.
• Performance management & process improvement skills/experience.

Generic Skills:
• Computer literate.
• Strong financial, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of engineering good practice and principles.
• Must be willing to work for long hours based on the nature of the work.
• Must be flexible to work on long term basis or on rotational contract basis.
• Experience of working in the Middle East will be an added advantage.
