Job description / Role
We are looking for a highly talented Security Manager. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for defining and executing policies, strategies, and processes to identify, manage, and mitigate risks for an O&G camp housing up to 1500 residents & staff based in a remote location in the Sultanate of Oman.
How you’ll contribute:
- Carry out all duties in support of the project in accordance with client contractual obligations
- Full operational responsibility for planning, preparation, implementation and oversight of security operations including electronic access control and CCTV systems at designated man camps.
- Act as a single point of contact for the client for all security related matters
- Ensure security compliance with Omani law.
- Ensuring security compliance with Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights
- Provide Security Management Plans for the area of operation.
- Conduct full threat, risk and vulnerability assessments of operations in coordination with the client
- Develop and implement procedures and risk mitigation measures.
- Develop contingency plans and where appropriate exercise these under direction of the client
- Assess and manage local security arrangements including journey management.
- Assess and evaluate the capability and performance of security guard services to ensure the highest levels of effectiveness
- Develop and implement SOP’s to support the operation.
- Identify security training requirements, developing and delivering courses where appropriate and personnel records are maintained for all security staff
- Liaise with client to formulate policies, determine security needs and identify areas of deficiency and improvement.
- At the direction of the client develop close links with local authorities, police, military and embassies.
- Support the Emergency Response Team (ERT) when required.
- Implement and ensure good communications at all levels and departments.
- Create and implement a traveler/newcomer security briefing and ensure security inductions for site based personnel.
- Coordinate operational support to deployed assets, including incorporation of intelligence input prior to, and during tasks.
- Participate in and coordinate the response to the emergency security calls.
- Compile reports required to support the security operation.
- Make regular recommendations leading to a state of continuous improvement and constant security enhancement.
- Provide assistance with investigations as directed by the client.
- Ensure that all security rotational leave plans are implemented.
- Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor all personnel through formal channels. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
- Ensure all incidents and accident reports are completed as per SOPs
Requirements
- Commercial Security Management experience of remote Oil & Gas man-camp sites
- At least 10 years exemplary ROP service record
- Minimum 2 years recent experience of operating in MENA in a similar post.
- Experience in the training and management of multi-national personnel.
- Has a working knowledge of the oil and gas industry
Desirable:
- Military or Commercial Training experience
- Commercial security experience in Oman
Skills and Ability:
- Very good verbal command of the English language.
- Excellent written English skills.
- Excellent client facing skills
- Proven supervision skills and the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure at remote locations.
- Proven IT skills in all Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word & Power Point).
