Job description / Role
Management Accounts and Year-end statutory accounts
- Review of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements to ensure they are prepared in conformity with International Accounting Standards, best accounting practices and local statutory requirements.
- Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits and tax matters with the Company’s auditors and ensure that audited financial statements and annual tax returns are completed in accordance with the statutory and group reporting deadlines.
- Review adequacy of accounting provisions to ensure that all liabilities and expenses are accounted for prior to completing period financial statements.
- Validate all ledger entries and propose any adjustments entries prior to registering them in the accounting system.
- Ensure that data backups are taken on a monthly basis after completing month-end closing process and kept them securely.
- Investigate, analyze and review any anomalies in the GL, subsidiary ledgers and financial statements and report to the Finance Manager with corrective actions
- Maintain chart of accounts, review ledger accounts, accounting schedules and reconciliations.
Management reports and Budgets
- Preparation of monthly operational and financial review reports in accordance with the group reporting requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Preparation of monthly data analysis file and KPI data required for monthly management reports
- Analyze variances in the areas of sales, margins, other income, overheads, assets, liabilities and report
- Preparation of ad-hoc management reports and financial analysis to support day-to-day management decision making process.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing annual budgets and cost - benefit analysis
Requirements
- Degree + professional accreditations ( CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with at least 3 years experience
