Senior Accountant

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in escrow accounts, preferably within the real estate development sector. While exposure to leasing would be beneficial, expertise in escrow management is the top priority. Candidates must be willing to work in Muscat, Oman.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage escrow accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Handle the reconciliation of escrow transactions, monitoring fund movements and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Work closely with banks, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth escrow operations.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets related to escrow accounts.
• Support the finance team in day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reconciliations.
• Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements and financial efficiency.
• Collaborate with leasing teams to support financial transactions related to property leases.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, financial policies, and accounting standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on escrow account management in the real estate development sector.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations related to escrow accounts in Oman.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
