Wood is recruiting for a Sr. Engineer (Offshore Structural Engineer) to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the activities and processes associated with Offshore Engineering in the SFR Project. Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, commissioning, and Operation of SBM and Pipeline System in the oil and gas industry. Responsible for supporting and executing general engineering activities directly linked to Offshore Structural and Marine Engineering and managing EPC Contractor Deliverables. Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.
Responsibilities
The Sr. Engineer (Offshore Structural Engineer) will be responsible for:
- Marine and offshore structural related activities involved in SBM and Pipeline system detailed design, Installation engineering, Construction, and Commissioning.
- Offshore Survey, Navigational Studies, mooring analysis, seismic analysis, etc.
- SBM and its related vendor deliverables.
- Mooring Anchors, Chains, Mooring Hawsers, PLEM and SBM location.
- Installation and engineering including Analysis and installation procedures of Offshore Structural, Geotechnical scope.
- Applying Offshore engineering practices, standards, and design codes, i.e. DNVs, OCIMS, AWS, APIs, ABS, etc.
- Reviewing Offshore engineering deliverables, i.e. (SBM, PLEM and related pipeline).
- Challenging the project design assumptions and striving to bring more value to the project.
- Compiling information from FEED contractor reports; evaluating and analyzing them using Offshore engineering standards and codes.
- Actively participating and providing directions in the engineering reviews and meetings and taking lead when required.
- Providing innovative solutions to overcome project challenges including cost and schedule while still maintaining compliance with the design codes.
- Participating in solving Offshore engineering challenges that are recognized during the development of the EPC.
- Reviewing engineering deliverables to monitor HSSE, progress, and ensure conformance to codes and project standards.
- Being responsible for the coordination, execution, and progress of Offshore engineering design.
- Following up on the turnover of the Offshore engineering documents.
- Being responsible for technical accuracy, quality, and economy of Offshore engineering applications design.
- Managing site verification of equipment location, pipe routing, tie-ins, and constructability study.
- Managing offshore consultants.
- Other relevant duties as requested from time to time.

Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
- 10 years' experience in Engineering Design in the Oil/Gas industry.
- Skills in structural related work and structural design software like Staad Pro.
- Skills in structural design using local codes, SP, DEP, Euro, and British codes with demonstrated work experience.
- Skills in 3D model review software like Naviswork and Walkinside.
- Practical experience in all structural engineering relevant disciplines.
